Embroidery Digitizing Prices

Three flat prices. Standard designs are $15, portrait designs are $25, and full-size designs are $60. The price is set by the size of the design, not by how many stitches it ends up with, so you know what a file costs before we build it, not after.

Every price includes all seven machine formats, free unlimited revisions, and 1-2 hour rush turnaround at no additional charge. We invoice on delivery. If the file doesn’t stitch out the way you need it to and we can’t fix it, you don’t pay.

Our flat rates

Size is measured on the longest dimension of the design, whether that’s the width or the height. A logo that’s 3″ tall and 6″ wide is a 6″ design, so it’s Portrait. That’s the whole rule. Stitch count is unlimited at every tier and never changes the price.

Embroidery digitizing pricing by design tier and size
Tier Design size Stitch count Price
Standard Up to 4.0″ Unlimited $15
Portrait 4.01″ – 8.0″ Unlimited $25
Full Size 8.01″ and above Unlimited $60
STANDARD $15 PORTRAIT $25 FULL SIZE $60 + 0″ 2″ 4″ 6″ 8″ 10″ 12″+ 3″ × 6″ logo measured at 6″, Portrait
Size is always measured on the design’s longest dimension: width or height, whichever is greater.

Stitch count is unlimited at every tier and never factors into price. A 4″ design is $15 whether it runs 8,000 stitches or 80,000. Size sets the tier, and that’s the only variable. There is no per-thousand-stitch meter and no bill that grows while the file is being built.

How to find your tier

Most orders sort themselves in a few seconds. Find your placement below.

Standard: up to 4″ · $15

The most common size in commercial embroidery. Designs this size are digitized with simplified detail, because very small text and fine linework turn into a blur of thread at this scale.

  • Left chest logos: usually 3″ to 4″ wide. Corporate logos on polos, button-downs and uniforms
  • Hats and caps: usually 2″ to 2.5″ tall, up to 4″ wide. Team logos and brand emblems for structured front panels and beanies
  • Sleeve and cuff: usually 1″ to 2.5″. Brand icons, flags and initials on a bicep or a long-sleeve cuff
  • Nape of neck / back yoke: usually 2″ to 3″. Subtle branding below the collar of a tee or jacket
  • Breast pockets and visors: small text-based logos and monograms

Portrait: 4.01″ to 8″ · $25

This size carries more colors, finer detail and layered stitching. Big enough to read across a room, not big enough to take over the garment.

  • Center chest: usually 5″ to 7″. Collegiate lettering, team crests and brand logos on hoodies, sweatshirts and tees
  • Tote bags and backpacks: promotional logos, event branding and monograms on canvas
  • Aprons: restaurant logos, chef names and culinary graphics on the bib
  • Hand and golf towels: monograms, country club logos and resort branding
  • Youth jacket backs: outerwear backs where a full 8″+ design would overwhelm the garment

Full Size: 8.01″ and above · $60

Large designs are where digitizing skill actually shows. That volume of stitching will warp, pull or pucker the fabric if the underlay and stitch directions aren’t calculated properly. Done right, this size holds photo-realistic detail, shading and complex type.

  • Jacket backs: usually 10″ to 12″. Corporate logos, varsity mascots and team names across bomber, hoodie and work jacket backs
  • Motorcycle club vests: multi-piece rockers and center emblems for leather and denim
  • Blankets and throws: crests, commemorative designs and name displays as a central focal point
  • Duffel bags and luggage: athletic team logos and sponsor branding on gear bags
  • Bath towels and robes: oversized monograms, hotel crests and spa branding

What every price includes

The tier price is the whole price. All of this is inside it:

All seven machine formats

DST, PES, JEF, EXP, VP3, XXX and ART, delivered together.

1-2 hour rush

Standard on every order. Complex files up to 8 hours, jacket backs up to 12.

Unlimited revisions

Density, underlay, detail, spacing: however many passes it takes.

Artwork recreation

A blurry photo, low-res screenshot or hand-drawn sketch is still the tier price.

Fixing another digitizer’s file

Priced at its size tier, with no surcharge for it being a repair.

Format conversion

Converting an existing embroidery file to another machine format.

Thread and color changes

Changes made after delivery, at no charge.

Minor resizing

Scaling a delivered file up or down by up to 20%, after delivery.

What counts as a separate job

Everybody publishes prices. Almost nobody tells you where the price stops. Three things are a new job at the tier price, because the file has to be built again rather than adjusted:

A different size category

A left-chest logo and a jacket-back version of the same artwork are two files. Scaling within 20% is free.

Changed artwork after delivery

A new logo version, a different mark, a redrawn element.

New text after delivery

Adding a name, tagline or line of type that wasn’t in the original file.

If you know up front that you need two placements, tell us when you upload. We’ll price both before we start and you’ll never see a number on an invoice that you didn’t agree to first.

The Digitizing Partner Program

Consistent volume earns consistent savings. Tiers are based on your total designs in a calendar month, at any size: a month of ten caps and ten jacket backs is twenty designs.

Digitizing Partner Program monthly volume pricing by tier
Designs per month Standard Portrait Full Size
Retail (0 to 9)$15$25$60
Silver (10+)$14$23$55
Gold (20+)$13$22$50
Platinum (30+)$11$20$45

Cost per Standard design, by program tier

Retail $15
Silver $14
Gold $13
Platinum $11

At Platinum, a standard design costs $11, roughly 27% below retail, with 20% off Portrait and 25% off Full Size. There’s nothing to sign up for and no account to create. We track your monthly count on our end and apply the rate to your invoice.

Your first design is just $5

New customers get their first simple design digitized for $5, and that includes the revisions on it — enough to see our file quality before you commit to full-price work. We’d rather show you the file than describe it, and we’d rather earn a regular customer than win one order at full price.

$5 for your first design, on simple jobs. Upload the artwork and say it’s your first order. Standard $15 applies from your second order on.

How payment works

We invoice on delivery. No deposit, no payment up front, no account required to place an order. Pay however your accounting prefers:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express
  • Discover
  • PayPal
  • ACH / bank wire
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay

You only pay if you’re satisfied

When your file arrives, run a test stitch. If it doesn’t sew the way you need it to, tell us and we’ll revise it: density, underlay, detail, as many passes as it takes, at no charge.

And if we still can’t get it right, you don’t pay the invoice. Not a reduced rate, not a credit toward next time.

The hidden cost of rock-bottom digitizing

You’ll find digitizing advertised at rock-bottom prices elsewhere — $5, $8, sometimes less, and not to be confused with our own $5 first-design quality check, which runs the same manual build, same rush and same revisions as every full-price order. Here’s what’s different about those low-ball prices and our $15 flat rate for every order after the first, stated plainly enough that you can check it yourself.

No per-stitch billing

Category standard

Priced per thousand stitches above a small included allowance, so you can’t know what a design costs until after it’s built.

EDS

Flat by design size, with no stitch ceiling. A left-chest logo is $15 whether it lands at 8,000 stitches or 80,000.

Digitized by hand, not auto-punched

Category standard

Auto-digitizing software traces an image and guesses at stitch placement, producing files that are over-dense and prone to thread breaks.

EDS

Every file is built manually by a digitizer making those decisions deliberately. A clean-running file pays for itself the first time you sew a hundred pieces.

Rush is included, not an upgrade

The category standard is 24-hour turnaround, with rush sold as an add-on. Our 1-2 hour rush is the normal service at no additional charge.

EDS RUSH · 1-2 HRS
CATEGORY STANDARD · 24 HRS

You keep your leverage

Category standard

Payment taken before you see the file. If it’s wrong, you’re negotiating for a refund from a position of weakness.

EDS

We invoice on delivery, and you don’t pay if we can’t get the file right. The risk sits with us.

Pricing FAQs

Browse by category

[ Per-Stitch ] Do you charge per 1,000 stitches?

No. Prices are flat by design size: $15, $25 or $60. Stitch count is unlimited at every tier and has no effect on price, whether a design runs 8,000 stitches or 80,000. There’s no per-stitch meter.

[ Tier ] How do you decide which tier my design is?

By its longest dimension, width or height, whichever is greater. Up to 4 inches is Standard at $15, 4.01 to 8 inches is Portrait at $25, and 8.01 inches and above is Full Size at $60. We confirm the tier before we start work.

[ Complexity ] What if my design is very complex for its size?

There’s no stitch limit and no complexity surcharge. Stitch count is unlimited at every tier, so a dense, highly detailed 4″ logo is still $15, priced the same as a simple one. Size decides the tier; nothing else changes the price.

[ 3D Puff ] Is 3D puff or appliqué more expensive?

No. Both are priced on exactly the same size tiers as flat embroidery. A 4 inch 3D puff cap logo is $15, the same as a 4 inch flat logo.

[ Multiple Sizes ] I need the same logo for caps and jacket backs. Is that one price?

That’s two designs. A design built for a 4 inch cap won’t sew correctly at 11 inches. The density and underlay have to be rebuilt from scratch, so each size is digitized as its own file and priced at its own tier. Tell us both placements when you upload and we’ll price them before we start.

[ Formats ] Do I pay extra for additional file formats?

No. Every order is delivered in all seven formats: DST, PES, JEF, EXP, VP3, XXX and ART, at no additional cost.

[ Revisions ] Do revisions cost anything?

No. Revisions are free and unlimited until the file stitches the way you need it to.

[ Rush ] Is rush turnaround an extra charge?

No. The 1-2 hour rush is standard on every order. Complex designs take up to 8 hours and complicated jacket backs up to 12.

[ Payment ] Do I have to pay before you start?

No. We invoice on delivery, and no account is required to order. If the file doesn’t work and we can’t fix it, you don’t pay the invoice.

[ Qualify ] How do I qualify for volume pricing?

Order ten or more designs in a calendar month and Silver rates apply automatically. Twenty or more is Gold, thirty or more is Platinum. There’s no signup: we track the count and apply the rate to your invoice.

[ Signup ] Do I need to sign up for the Digitizing Partner Program?

No. There’s nothing to sign up for and no account to create. We track your monthly design count on our end and apply the matching rate to your invoice automatically.
